welcome to london pop
London Pop is a fine art photography project inspired by the Abstract Expressionists of post-war America and the Pop Art movement of the 1950s and 1960s. It is a natural extenison of previous projects that celebrate and explore London’s culture, community and people.
Rejecting Pop Art’s celebrity and consumerism attention turns toward the ordinary, with minimalist, abstract photographs of everyday objects found on the streets of London, from Crystal Palace to the bustling West End, seeking out the beauty that hides in plain sight.
This focus on the truly mundane sets out to show that art doesn’t require an extraordinary subject - it only requires an observant, appreciative eye.
